What is Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening is a procedure that removes stains and discoloration from teeth. Discoloration can be the result of a combination of things:

Whitening techniques will only work for staining caused by some medication if the discoloration is very mild. Take Home Teeth Whitening
Under the supervision of Dr. Huang, our whitening treatments are completely safe and will not harm teeth or gums. Using our custom made trays and tubes of solution, our whitening system lasts a long time.

First an impression of your teeth will be taken. It will be used as a mold to make custom whitening trays that look like a mouth guard.

When the whitening trays are ready you will have another appointment to test if the trays fit your teeth properly.

Instructions will be provided on how to use the trays in conjuntion with the whitening gel.

The whitening gel is placed into the custom trays at home and worn for a certain amount of time each day (ususally twice a day for 30 minutes to 2 hours for a 2 to 4 week period).

The custom-made trays minimize the bleaching gel's contact with the gum tissue.
The advantage of using dentist-supervised bleaching is that teeth can be properly assessed to have the correct chemical concentration, correct method and length of treatment. Dr. Huang will first make sure the patient is even suitable to have their teeth whitened.

COMPOSITE BONDING
Bonding is a common solution for:

Fixing or repairing chipped or cracked teeth

Hiding discoloration or faded areas on the tooth’s surface
Often, composite boding is used to improve the appearance of your teeth and enhance your smile. As the name indicates, composite material, either a plastic or resin, is bonded to an existing tooth. Unlike veneers or crowns, composite bonding removes little, if any, of the original tooth.
Composite bonding has many advantages:

It is a quick process, which typically lasts less than one hour.

It does not reduce the tooth’s original structure and is relatively inexpensive.

Composite resins come in many different shades in order to provide better matching of shades to the natural color of your teeth.

Composite bonds, however, are not as durable and long-lasting as veneers and crowns and may need to be re-touched or replaced in the future.
Composite bonds stain more easily and therefore require proper care and regular cleaning. In order to ensure the longest possible duration of the bonding, composites should be brushed and flossed daily. Common staining elements include coffee, tea, tobacco, foods and candy.
